[39:46] Q&A

Will the AI revolution benefit your employees equally?

Every major technological shift has reshaped the way we work. From the rise of the internet to cloud computing and the digital-first transformation, organizations have been the first to react when technology-driven opportunities arose.

But the speed and power of the latest digital revolution in AI have led to an uneven response from users; early adopters are already using AI in almost all areas of their work, while others are yet to even take their first steps with AI tools.

Faced with these future skills gaps that risk increasing divisions in their teams, now is an opportunity for HR leaders to influence digital transformation.

Tune in to hear our expert panel explore how to provide employees with the tools, guidance, and confidence to develop AI skills for the future.

What we learned

AI adoption is being driven from the bottom up; consumers are leading usage rather than organizations. This means that identity and background may have an outsized impact compared to previous digital transformations.

Data contains historic bias, but the future of data will be shaped by those using AI today. AI usage will, in turn, continue to shape us and how we work and live.

Inclusive practices invite everyone to have a voice, which is all the more powerful in the era of AI, since new and fast-moving technologies require a workforce that will question and challenge output.

Different groups in the workplace are experiencing AI in their own way, particularly those working in a second or third language. But those experiencing communication friction are showing signs of increased digital literacy and learner mindset.

Global organizations are beginning to embed AI in their DEI strategies, recognizing its potential to widen or reduce divisions in their teams.

Donald H Taylor

Researcher and Chairperson at Emerge Education and Learning Technologies Conference

With a career spanning nearly 40 years, I have chaired influential platforms such as the Learning Technologies Conference, fostering innovation and knowledge sharing in organizational learning and technology. My mission is now to advance the L&D profession by supporting the next generation of leaders and enabling growth within the industry - by creating and sharing research into what's happening in our field.

L&D leaders frequently ask me to talk to their teams about what's happening, providing a sense of clarity in the current confusion about how to work well in L&D today and the future.

As the Network Chair at Emerge Education, I collaborate with a global community of thought leaders to empower early-stage founders redefining the future of work and learning.
